Tanya Jamison of Marietta died on January 17th, 2025 at age 76, at Harmar Place, after a long illness. She was born in Akron, OH on 24 February 1948, the only child of James E. and Elizabeth M. Willemin. She grew up in Akron.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Akron in 1970 and a master’s degree in library science from the University of Pittsburgh in 1972. She married Martin Jamison in 1975. Tanya served for nearly 30 years in her profession. She worked and consulted in public library management in Texas, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Her last position was Head of Media Services at the Westerville (OH) Public Library.
Tanya had a positive outlook on life and a fun-loving personality. She enjoyed many hobbies, including reading. Her goal was to read 2,000 books in 25 years. She also liked watching movies, photographing nature, and playing cards and mah jongg. She was an excellent letter writer. She enjoyed travel, far and near. She loved nature and its beauty. She had a thoughtful, quiet faith and way of life. She loved friends and family, and she adored her pets.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and James Willemin, and by her half-sister Rose Marie Willemin.
She is survived by her loving husband and caregiver Martin, and by extended family and many friends.
