Thelda Juanita Hall, 83, died April 21, 2015 at Harmar Place. She was born on March 26, 1932 in Marietta to Letha M. and Gerald H. Hall. Thelda was a 1950 graduate of Marietta High School and had attended Marietta College. She had resided on Acme Street in her family home until 2013. Thelda had been a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ since April 5, 1998 and had participated as a member of the Adult Bible Study Class and had been a volunteer on the Outreach Board and Christian Ed Board and the Prayer Shawl Group, having crafted at least 200 shawls. She had worked as a lab tech and helped teach those skills to many students. Thelda enjoyed volunteering, sharing her help with the Hospital Ship Hope (traveling to Brazil); working with the Marietta Community Food Pantry from 1996 to 2013; assisting the MARS Radio group and working with the RSVP Clown group. Her interests included reading mysteries, science fiction (Star Trek), and books about animals. Thelda collected unusual Fenton Art Glass. Her family had raised Shi-tzus for show dogs, and she cherished pets. She is survived by sister in law, Joan Hall; nieces, Terri Blackwood and Lori Seevers and nephew, Mike Hall. Preceded in death by her parents, brother, Richard, and nephew, Alan Hall. Complying with her wishes to continue to be of help to others, Thelda has bequeathed her body to the Willed Body Program at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her ashes will be buried with family members at a later date. A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational United Church of Christ on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at 7:00 p.m., where the family will greet friends one hour prior to services. The Rev. Linda Steelman will be officiating.
