Theodore Edward "Ted" Barth, 63, of Marietta, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at his home. He was born May 1, 1951 in Marietta to Frederick Herbert and Phyllis Dodd Barth. He was a 1969 graduate of Marietta High School and had worked at the Physical Plant at Marietta College. Ted was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Church, the Sons of the American Legion, the Tree Commission and was a former member of the Cass Railroad Association. He enjoyed kayaking, hiking with his dogs, and drawing. Ted is survived by his wife, Dorothy Douglas Barth, they were married on March 24, 1990, by his daughter, Carrie Barth, of Marietta, granddaughter, Audrey, sister, Beverly Morris, of Dauphin Island, Alabama, brother, William Barth (Devra) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Steven, and Brittany Dicken who was raised in their home, like a daughter. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Evangelical Church at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014, with the Rev. Thomas R. Hendershot officiating. Burial will be in Berg Cemetery. Friends may call at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and for one hour prior to services on Friday at the church. Donations may be made to the Strecker Cancer Center.
