Thomas L. Brauer

Thomas Louis Brauer, 89 of Vincent, Ohio, passed away with family by his side, on Saturday, July 13, 2024.

He was born in Lawrenceburg, IN on December 19, 1934 to John L. and Emma Hornbeck Brauer. Thomas was a 1952 graduate of Belpre High School. Following graduation, he served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the U.S.S. Forrestal. Thomas was manager of Red Rose Feed Store and later retired from Washington County Career Center. He married Dorothy M. Rauch on November 26, 1959. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and spending time with family.

He is survived by his five children, Susan Peeler (John), Doug, Ken, Linda, and Rob Brauer; granddaughter, Elisabeth White (Zack); three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; sister, Rosanna Augustine (John); and sister in law, Mary Lou Brauer.  He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Largus Brauer; and son-in-law Doug Shaw.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday July 18, 2024, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with the Rev. David L. Huffman celebrating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, with full military honors observed. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:00 at the BARLOW CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOME. Family and friends are welcome to attend a bereavement dinner, at the church, following the service.
