Treva Long, 85, of Lowell, died Saturday, December 6, 2014. She was born on October 16, 1929 in Lowell, Ohio, to Harley C. and Elsie Grimes Hughes. Treva married the love of her life, George "Tom" Long on August 31, 1951, in Lowell. She was a lifelong resident of Lowell, where she was the Clerk for Adams Township for a very long time. Treva loved reading the bible and was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Marietta. She is survived by her husband, George "Tom" Long, daughter, Christie Knight (Ron) of Seabrook, MD, son, Mike Long (Brenda) of Fleming, grandson, Tony Long (Erin) of Parkersburg, WV, granddaughter, Miranda Long of Fleming, two sisters, Juanita Wetz (Dick) of Huber Heights, Ohio, Vivian Sells of Lowell, and Chris Long of Marietta. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Virgil, Jack and Harley D. Hughes and her sister, Lela Remleigh. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Hendershot officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell. Visitation will be on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
