Virginia P. "Jenny" Fulmer, 87, of Marietta, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg, WV. She was born August 15, 1923 in Big Sandy, WV to John W. and Lorena Jo Lily Hilbert. Virginia was a longtime employee of the Marietta School System and also of the Washington County Treasurer's Office. She was a life long member of the Gilman United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends. Virginia is survived by three children, David (Linda) Murphy of Marietta, Judy Mankins of Westerville and Janie (Mark) Zucker of Suffern, NY, five grandchildren, Michael Murphy David (Tami) Murphy, Chad (Angie) Mankins, Kelly (Jeff) Weinstein and Kacey (Matt) Wachtel, one step grandchild, Dawn (David) Lenington, six great grandchildren, Laural, Jonathon, Sean, Noah, Addyson and Ryann, two step great grandchildren, Eli and Cady, and her sister, Pauline Sims, of Orlando, FL. Preceded in death by a brother, Fred Hilbert, her first husband, Roy Murphy, second husband, former Washington County Treasurer, Robert Fulmer, and twin sons, Richard and Raymond Murphy. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at the Gilman United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Diann O'Bryant officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. There will also be visitation for one hour prior to services, at the church.
