Virginia Maxine Matheny
May 20, 1928 — January 29, 2020
Graduating from Waterford High School in 1946, and from Camden Clark School of Nursing in 1949, she was active in nursing at the old Osteopathic Clinic on Putnam Street, Selby General Hospital and Marietta Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1991. Virginia was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by nine children, Randall Matheny (Pam) of Brookville, PA, Sandra Walker (Bill) of Zanesville, Ohio, Andrew Matheny (Gail) of Marietta, Daniel Matheny (Crystal) of Vincent, Ohio, Lance Matheny of Lowell, Ohio, Tami Linscott (Dan) of Cambridge, Ohio, Francis Matheny (Carma) of Beverly, Ohio, Amy Harper (Dail) of Caldwell, Ohio and Anna Matheny (Shannon) of Caldwell; 28 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Gerald Hill (Karen) of Lowell, Jerry Hill (Connie) of Lowell and Erma Blume (Ed) of Fleming, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Floyd "Bill" Matheny, whom she married on August 19, 1950; two sisters, Wanda Kloes and Eloise Ragan; two brothers, Ronald and Albert Hill; and her granddaughter, Caitlin Brianna Walker.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the L-A Fire & Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 406, Lowell, Ohio 45744.
