Virginia Marie Ritchie

August 15, 1920 — April 5, 2013

Virginia Marie "Ginny" Ritchie, 92, formerly of Belpre, died Friday, April 5, 2013, at Highland Hills Nursing Facility in McConnelsville. Born August 15, 1920, in Braddock, PA, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Sadie Stahl Kelch.

A graduate of Racine High School, Ginny had been a bookkeeper at Parkersburg National Bank. She was a Christian by faith, and enjoyed attending church. She was a member of the auxiliaries of the VFW, Post 5108 and the American Legion, Post 64. Ginny had been a volunteer for the American Red Cross, and had enjoyed time spent knitting and crocheting.

She was married January 24, 1970, to Fred W. Ritchie, who survives, along with seven step-children; Ronnie Ritchie, Ft. Myers, FL; Gerald Ritchie, Elizabeth, WV; Roger Ritchie (Jane), Marietta; Douglas Ritchie (Yvonne), Williamstown; Jody Anderson, Richmond, VA; Dane Ritchie (Anita), Belpre; and Jan E. Miller, Marietta. Also surviving are 16 step-grandchildren and numerous step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a step-son, Duane Ritchie.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Pastor Rick Ritchie officiating. Burial will be at Gravel Bank Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday, from 5 to 7 pm.
