Vivian Lee Burke

Vivian L. Burke, 90, of Marietta, Ohio, died Monday, July 10, 2017 at the Arbors of Marietta. She was born on July 11, 1926 in Marietta to James and Lillian Beard.
Vivian was a 1945 graduate of Marietta High School, and attended West Virginia State College. She retired from Marietta City Schools after 22 years of employment as a registered study hall monitor. Vivian attended the Whitman AME Chapel Church and enjoyed flowers and music. On November 2, 1947, she married Robert Burke, who preceded her in death on March 26, 2008.
She is survived by her three sons, Barry, David and Mark Burke, all of Marietta; five grandchildren, James Burke of Parkersburg, Andrea Burke of Cincinnati, David J. Burke of Hudson, Ohio, and Tara and Robert Burke of Marietta; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Iduma Burke.
Family will greet friends from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017 at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Private committal services will be held in the chapel in East Lawn Mausoleum.
