Warren M. Ely

Warren Montgomery "Monty" Ely, Sr., 76, of Fraziers Bottom, WV and formerly of Barlow, died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at his home. He was born November 15, 1938 in Wintersville, Ohio to Howard and Evelyn McNiece Ely. He was a graduate of Vincent High School. He had retired from Dupont of Washington Bottom, WV following 38 years of employment. Monty was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church and The Bridge Baptist Church. He loved traveling, camping, fishing, tinkering, his family and friends and all of God's creation. He is survived by his wife, Edna P. Hopkins Ely; three children, Glenna I. Barrow (Tom) of Belpre, Warren M. Ely,II (Jeanetta) of Bartlett and Barbara E. McComas (Richard) of Fraziers Bottom, WV; ten grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Howard Ely, Jr. and a niece, Cindy Chidester. The family would like to say a special thanks to Hospice of Charleston for the care and kindness they gave to Monty. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2015, at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Pastor David Dye officiating. Friends may call on Sunday from noon until time of the service. Burial will be in Barlow Central Cemetery.
