Wendy Maureen Tebay, 46, died on September 3, 2010 after an extended illness. She was born February 3, 1964 in Fairfax, VA to E. Sterling and June L. (Immel) Tebay. Wendy graduated with honors from Laurel (MD) High School. She attended Randolph Macon College in Ashland, VA on a scholarship; she graduated Magna Cum Laude earning a BA in Physics with a minor in Computer Science, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Wendy then attended the University of Virginia on a full scholarship and a paid research assistance-ship earning her MS Degree in Engineering Physics. She was a member of numerous honor and professional societies. Wendy was employed by Lockheed Astrospace in New Jersey where she designed satellite systems such as the Earth Observing System (EOS). In Denver, CO she was a member of the team that controlled the Mars Global Surveyor (MGS).
Wendy will be greatly missed by her parents; brother Todd S. (Tracy) Tebay; and niece, Alexandra M. Tebay. She was preceded in death by her brother, Mark A. Tebay.
A Gathering will begin at 2:00 pm at Cawley and Peoples Funeral Home on Saturday, September 18, 2010, with the Memorial Service beginning at 3:00 pm.
