Wilbert Earl "Russ" Camden, 80, of Lower Salem, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at his home. He was born April 26, 1931 in Lebanon, Ohio to John V. and Fay Lucas Camden. Russ was a 1949 graduate of Salem Liberty High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Korea, serving from September of 1951 to September of 1953. Russ had worked as a heavy equipment operator through Local #18, Operating Engineers. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, a life member of American Legion, Post #64 and VFW #5108, and was involved with the Washington County Historical Society. Russ is survived by his wife, Lou Anne Schilling Camden, they were married February 17, 1955, also by two daughters, Patsy McKinney (Scott) of Venetia, PA, Joyce Ribble (Eric) of Baltimore, OH, a son, James Camden of Whipple, seven grandchildren, Krista Clear (Kevin), Brian Ribble (Casey), Brent Ribble, Bradley Butler (Carolyn Jennings), Gregory Butler (Nadine Boiano), Robbie McKinney, and Philip Camden, three great grandchildren, Camden, Anna, and Lidia, two sisters, Jean Zimmerman of Caldwell and Evelyn Walters of Lower Salem and one brother, Robert Camden (Glenda) of Whipple. His funeral service will be held at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 1:00 p.m., with the Rev. David Huffman officiating. Friends may call on Thursday, from 2 to 8 p.m. There will be a Vigil Service at 3 p.m. on Thursday. Burial will be in Our Lady of Mercy Church Cemetery in Lowell, with full military honors.
