William Ross "Bill" Bricker, 79, Marietta, OH, and formerly of Rapid City, MI died December 22, 2015 in Marietta. Born October 7, 1936 in Massillon, OH, he was a son of the late Ross W. and Ethel M. Ackerman Bricker. Bill earned his B.S. in Secondary Education in 1959 from Otterbein College, his Masters in Guidance and Counseling in 1967 from John Carroll University and his Educational Specialist Degree in 1972 from Central Michigan University. He was a long time educator and counselor in the Kalkaska, MI public schools. Bill loved to coach and referee many sports, including baseball, softball, football, volleyball and basketball. He enjoyed these sporting activities both in Michigan and while wintering in Largo, FL. In all, Bill had refereed for 48 years and had last done so in the spring of this year. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Demorest Bricker, whom he married in Westerville, OH on July 25, 1959, and by two sons, Paul (Catherine) Bricker, of Alexandria, VA, and David (Shari) Bricker, of Marietta; and by 13 grandchildren Ross, Andrew (Melissa), Benjamin, Scott, Joel, Heather, John, Heidi, Samuel and Hannah, Jacob, Jessie and Sophia. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Souls Harbor Baptist Church, with Pastor Robert Hughes of?ciating. Bill's family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, 408 Front Street, Marietta.
