William "Bill" A. Chutes

William “Bill” A. Chutes, Jr., 66, of Marietta, Ohio, passed away on August 23, 2022, peacefully in his home with loved ones by his side. He was born on September 28, 1955 in Marietta.

Bill was a giving, selfless, and caring soul. He was known for being incredibly passionate about his work and took pride in the many bridges and structures he helped to construct in the area. He was especially proud of his specialized work with slate roofing. He graduated from Marietta Senior High School. Bill also served in the U. S. Army. He retired from Labors Union Local 639 in 2014. Bill loved life and people and he could often be found hunting, fishing, camping, riding his Harley and playing cards with friends and family.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia Chutes, sister, Crystal Chutes, daughters, Molly Chutes and Kendra Whittekind, and sons, Tyler Chutes and Brandon Davis, grandsons, Haidyn, Mason, William, Blake, Logan, and Phisher. He will be missed by his many friends, family and loved ones alike.

Bill is preceded in death by his father, William Chutes, his two brothers, Flint and Mark Chutes and daughter, Emily Welch.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home with Christopher Longgrear officiating. Full military rights with be observed. The family will greet friends two hours prior to the service on Saturday.
