William John Kaskewsky

William J. Kaskewsky, 89, of Marietta, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Select Hospital in Zanesville. He was born March 5, 1923 in Charleston, Rhode Island to Adolph and Eva Zhochef Kaskewsky. He was a 1954 graduate of the University of Rhode Island, with a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Bill worked at for Union Carbide, Gulf Oil, and Chevron as Senior Project Engineer . He was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon, St. Mary Catholic Church, was past president and board member of the Marietta Country Club, Society of Professional Engineers, where he had served as local president , American Legion, Post #64 and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He is survived by his wife, Mary Katharine Wilson Kaskewsky, a son, John D. Kaskewsky (Karen) of Sandusky, grandchildren, Timothy J. Kaskewsky of Columbus, Stephanie M. McGookey (David) of Toledo and Lauren N. Kaskewsky of Sandusky, sisters, Irene Walaska (John) of Coventry, RI and Bertha Trombetta (Joseph) of Seekonk, Massachusetts and ten nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Joseph and Walter. Funeral Liturgy, with Mass, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell as celebrant. The family will greet friends at a reception at the church immediately following the committal services at New St. Mary's Cemetery, where full military rites will be observed. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
