Bill attended Greenbrier Military Academy and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. He served his country during WWII in the 8th Army Air Corps stationed in England from 1942 to 1945, and then graduated from Bowling Green Business School in 1947. Bill worked for Klaus Office Equipment, Remington Rand, Diebold and retired from Kardex. He then worked for Peoples Bank as a courier and in the mail room until the age of 94. He was a member of Kiwanis, was head of the Traffic Commission in Marietta for many years, but what he enjoyed most was spending time with his family, especially with all of his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He is survived by his six children, Ann Christensen (Bob) of Westerville, Ohio, Carol Page of Mariemont, Ohio, Bill Page (Jane) of Marietta, Susan Cooper (Phil) of Marietta, Jeanne Whittekind (Dave) of Marietta, Paula Binkley of Pataskala, Ohio; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Klaus Page, whom he married on January 12, 1946; his faithful companion, Bow; son in law, Rocky Binkley; his step father, Paul Bibb Earwood; and two brothers, Jim and Ranny Page.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2019 at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Joel Gaydos officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park, with full military honors observed. Visitation will be on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
Donations may be directed to Strecker Cancer Center or the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley. His family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff of the offices of Dr. Kim Hunkele, Dr. Siva and Dr. Tahbaz, for all their loving care of their dad.
