William Webster Rider

William Webster "Billy" Rider, Jr., 50, of Greenville, SC, passed away Thursday night, January 7, 2016 at his home. He was born on August 25, 1965, in Washington DC, to William Webster Rider and Ruth Ilene Williamson Rider. Billy attended Marietta High School and Washington County Vocational School, studying electrical work. He was a proud IBEW union worker. He grew up in Marietta enjoying bike riding, swimming at the fairground's pool, and hours at the city parks, playing kick ball with great friends. Billy managed a teen dance club, "Beat Street", in the 80's, where he was a DJ, and loved to break dance. He loved all music and played the harmonica. He is survived by one daughter, Kelsey Leister of Caldwell, his twin sister, Sandra Egen (Charles) of Greenville, SC, sister, Karen Talbott (Bryan) of Marietta, nephews and nieces, Jacob Nixon, Jonathon McIntire (Rennelle), Nathan McIntire (Alisha), Joshua Talbott (Ashley), Megan Thompson (Ryan), Brittany Talbott (Derek), Rachael Egen, William Egen, Jacob Nixon, Jr., and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Judy Nixon Young and Polly McIntire. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 136 Front Street, Marietta, Ohio 45750.
