William Lee Wagner

William Lee Wagner, 70, of Marietta, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born April 29, 1941 in Marietta to Clinton and Doris Hunter Wagner. He was a 1960 graduate of Marietta High School. He had served in the Army from 1960 to 1963. Bill had worked at Fenton Art Glass for 35 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Evergreen Bible Church and the Golden Agers, also a member of American Legion Post #64 and American Flint Glass Workers, Union Local 508. Bill is survived by his wife, Karen Ruth Heslop Wagner, they were married on August 24, 1963; a son, Kevin Wagner (Machelle), of Marietta and a daughter, Pamela Wagner (friend, Melvin Parks), of Marietta, two grandsons, Chris Wagner and David Wagner, granddaughter in law, Emily, two great grandchildren, Grace and Isaiah Wagner, a half sister, Connie Weelock, his faithful companion, Spike, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Matthew Wagner, two sisters, Patricia Wagner and Sandra Taylor, and half brother, Thomas Wagner. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Evergreen Bible Church, with Dr. Steve Thibault officiating. Friends may call at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. There will also be visitation at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park, with full military honors. Donations may be made to Evergreen Bible Church, 113 Ellsworth Ave., Marietta, OH 45750.
