Wretha Mae Casto, 92, formerly of Nelsonville, died Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Kimes Nursing and Rehab in Athens. She was born February 26, 1922 in Given, WV to Albert M. and Effie Rhodes Smith. She had been a member of the Oak Grove Wesleyan Church and the Senior Citizens, both in Nelsonville. Wretha enjoyed quilting, baking, and most of all her family and was known by Grandma to all. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Casto, of Vienna, WV, son, Manford Lee Casto (Lorrie) of Nelsonville, Ohio, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manford Martin Casto in 1998, also by son in law, Dick Casto, seven brothers, Ray, Cleo, Carl, Willard, Albert, James and Edgar Lee Smith, her sister, Hazel McCoy, and two great grandchildren, Tristopher Charles Mathew Casto and Sydney Alice Stinnett. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 15, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Pastor Stan West officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Bartlett Cemetery. A special thanks to all at Kimes Nursing & Rehab.
